A note from the Principal of Tintern Grammar:

The impact the Covid19 virus is having on it and other larger-scale public events. First and foremost, I thank you for your support of our Production, despite you not having a child in it this year. We are very grateful for the broader community support for our production and enjoy the presence of past parents and students, as well as those with little or no connection to the School.

As we approach the performance dates this year, it is clear that the impact of the Covid19 virus is increasing in Australia and Melbourne and the School has made a number of increasingly strong responses to support the slowing of transmission of the virus. Many other significant and less significant public events have already been cancelled and many more clearly will be in the future. The virus is transmitted very readily in crowds when people spend periods beyond 15 mins inside a distance of 2m. As a result, we have cancelled the School’s assemblies and other events from next week that create this higher risk environment.

Thank you for your support through what is a very challenging time in schools generally, and particularly around the performance of our amazing School Production.

Kind regards,

Brad Fry

About the Production

“Be Our Guest!” and step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, an international sensation that has played to over 35 million people worldwide in 13 countries.

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

This "tale as old as time" is filled with spectacular costumes and sets, memorable songs and lovable characters. Disney's Beauty and the Beast offers a great opportunity to bring your entire community together for family theatre at its best.
