After a sell-out show at Karralyka in 2016, Daniel Thompson has returned. 

Daniel is a Male Vocalist of the Year Award Winner at the Australian Independent Country Music Awards and a Golden Guitar Nominated Country Singer with a lifelong love of the Country Music genre and especially the great Songs and Artists of 1970’s Country.

A passion for great voices and great songs has led him to where he is now as the voice of Johnny Cash The Concert, where he has gained a reputation as one of Australia’s best and most respected tribute performers. Always keen for a challenge he is now taking it to a new level with this brand new show, performing songs from the greats of the Country Music genre.

Over the last 6 years Daniel has been touring nationally with Johnny Cash The Concert performing to more than 30 thousand Australian fans. Always keen to have a chat to fans after a show, comments are often made about his voice and what other songs people would love to hear him sing and the Country songs of the 70’s often come up. Taking that as a cue, The Greats of 70’s Country Music was born.

Having been part of the Australian Country Music industry for over 20 years, Daniel has a huge respect for the genre and a love of the classic hits of his musical heroes. “People want to hear these songs and I am looking forward singing them.”

In a decade where a huge variety of music made it into the main stream, country music made it to the top of the charts more than at any other time in it’s history. Country Music provided the soundtrack to some of the decades biggest and most loved TV Shows and Hollywood Movies and made superstars of some of the finest voices best bands in the history of popular music. Glen Campbell, Dr Hook, Kenny Rogers, The Bellamy Brothers, Willie Nelson, John Denver, Linda Ronstadt and Dolly Parton all soared to the top of the charts on the back of the greatest songs in an unforgettable era of the country music genre.

The Greats of 70’s Country Music will showcase 2 hours of the biggest hits from some of the best known names in music from this classic erd and will also feature a special tribute to Johnny Cash!
